Weaning or complementary feeding is the process
of gradual and progressive transfer of the baby from the breastfeeding to the
usual family diet. Evaluative research approach and pre experimental (one group
pre test and post test) were used. Non randomized purposive sampling technique
was used to select the sample . The total study sample consist 60 primi mother
of infant aged 6-12 years. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and
inferential statistics. The result of the study reveals that the structure
teaching programme is found to be effective in terms of gaining both knowledge
and practice. So structure teaching programme is effective in improving the
knowledge and practice of primi mothers of infant aged 6-12 regarding weaning.
